Artists United Against Apartheid est un "super-groupe" créé à l'initiative de Steven Van Zandt afin d'engager la maximum d'artistes contre l'Apartheid qui a lieu, à l'époque, en Afrique du Sud. Le groupe réunit donc Afrika Bambaataa, Bob Dylan, Herbie Hancock, Ringo Starr (The Beatles), Lou Reed, Run DMC, Peter Gabriel (Genesis), Jackson Browne, U2, George Clinton, Keith Richards et Ron Wood (des Rolling Stones), Hall and Oates, Jimmy Cliff, Big Youth, et Joey Ramone (The Ramones).
